funds to Bangladesh from India and links between a section of the Trinamool Congress leadership with Islamist organisation Jamaat-e-Islami to her Indian counterpart

At the maiden meeting between the two leaders, Hasina alleged that Jamaat-e-Islami, the Islamist organisation that had carried out bloodbath at the time of Bangladesh's birth, is trying to destabilise her Awami League government and some influential quarters in Bengal were trying to aid them through money and material support. The Bangladeshi side also alleged that some Jamaat supporters were being sheltered by some members of the ruling party in West Bengal, the report said.

Prime Minister Modi said he was grateful to Dhaka for backing New Delhi on the issue and assured that no anti-Bangladesh activities would be encouraged on the Indian soil.
