At least 33 dead as petrol tanker explodes in Kenya
The accident happened late on Saturday night 10 kilometers north of the central town of Naivasha.
Nairobi, Dec 11: Over 33 people were killed after a tanker carrying chemical gas rammed into several other vehicles on Kenya main highway. The accident occured on the Nakuru-Nairobi road at 9.30 p.m
According to reports, the tanker heading to Uganda lost control and rammed into a number of vehicle before exploding into flames. Around 11 vehicles have been burnt and scores were injured.
A similar incident had taken place in 2009 in which more than 100 people were charred to death near the central town of Molo after a lorry carrying petrol caught fire.
