Apple Watch Strapped To Lion's Tongue; Video Goes Viral, Netizens React
Recently, a video went viral online which showed a lion under anesthesia, with an apple watch strapped to its tongue. The video was initially posted by wildlife veterinarian Dr. Chloe Buiting on her Instagram.
The video got a lot of reactions, including one from the creator of the heartrate monitoring system of the Apple Watch.

Details Of The Video And The Veterinarians Who Discovered This:
Video showcased the apple watch being used as a means of checking the heartbeat of the unconscious lion. In the video, the lion's loud snoring can be heard in the background, something pointed out in the caption by Dr. Buiting, a consultant for Fauna and Flora International.
It's tongue is shown to be jutted out, with the watch attached, but its snout remained bound.
Dr. Buiting writes in the captions that she is fascinated by the fact that an apple watch could be used as a means of checking a lion's heartbeat, stating that while the use of the watch may be unconventional, it's a true story where 'technology meets conservation'.
The rest of the caption then went into further detail on how this discovery is very handy as one of the biggest challenges of veterinarians who work with wildlife is the monitoring of anesthesia, as they don't often get the same equipment and help that they would otherwise get in a hospital.
The devices that are usually used in the field for this kind of work are also often made for smaller animals rather than large ones.
She then revealed that it wasn't actually her who made the discovery, but another wildlife veterinarian, Dr. Fabiola Quesada. Dr. Quesada is also the CEO of Wild Spirit, a global entity that aims to help preserve wildlife through providing courses and support to veterinarians from all over the world.
Netizens Reactions To The Post:
The post has reached more than a million likes on Instagram, with many users commenting things like, "Yo, I thought that was a DOG", "Pretty rad ad campaign if you ask me", and "Does Tim Cook know?".
The creator of the heartbeat monitor for the Apple Watch, Dr. David Benaron, also commented on the post and made a post on his X account on it.

Watch a wellness wearable measure pulse+oxygen. The vet was creative, thrilled it works. But its exactly how I designed orig sensor to work! Light goes in and comes back. The sensor doesnt even need to touch. Lip, cheek, tongue work, even thru endoscope (vid @jungle_doctor, IG) pic.twitter.com/pZ1Cn3BZBA
