Although there is no confirmation from the agencies, reports say that the suicide bomber was on foot when the explosion took place.
No group has claimed the responsibility so far, but it is the Afghan Taliban which has been carrying out such attacks in the country over the years.
In February, at least 20 people were dead after a suicide blast outside Afghanistan's Supreme Court in Kabul.
Afghanistan security forces and its international allies have been fighting Taliban militants and other radical groups for years.
