Afghanistan: 8 killed, 12 wounded as explosion hits Gardez city

Kabul, Aug 3: Eight people were killed and 12 were injured after two explosion hit a Shiite mosque in Gardez city of Paktia province, eastern Afghanistan on Friday. Meanwhile, a number of casualties not clear yet.

Local officials confirmed the incident and said preliminary reports indicate a suicide attack has taken place inside a mosque. The officials are saying that a number of people have also been killed or wounded in the attack inside the Imam Zaman mosque. Those inside the mosque were doing the Friday prayers.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
