8 dead and more than 15 injured in a blast in Lahore

Lahore, Feb 23: At least eight people were killed and fifteen others were injured as a blast rocked Lahore's Defence area.

According to the initial reports it suggested that it was caused by a generator blast and rescue team has reached the site. Even the government of Punjab tweeted that the blast had been caused as a result of a generator.

The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital and police have cordoned off the area.

Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that a bomb had been placed inside an under construction building which had caused the blast. He further said that the area has been encircled and nothing can be said about the nature of blast yet.
