25-Year-Old Australian Tourist Gang-Raped In Paris, Her Desperate Cry For Help At Kebab Shop Recorded On CCTV
An Australian woman was allegedly gang-raped by five men in Paris just ahead of the upcoming Olympics, police reported. The French prosecutors are currently investigating the heinous crime, which reportedly occurred around midnight on July 19.
CCTV footage revealed that the 25-year-old victim sought refuge at a kebab shop following the incident. Her dress was partially torn and she was wearing it "inside out."

The shop is located on Boulevard de Clichy in Paris' 18th arrondissement, near the Moulin Rouge.
What does the video show?
The video captures the woman running into the shop, pleading for help from the staff. Both staff and customers are seen gathering around to comfort her. Shortly thereafter, a man entered the kebab shop, and the woman identified him as one of her attackers.
The alleged attacker patted the woman on the back but fled after being confronted by a customer. Firefighters provided emergency assistance to the woman and later transported her to a hospital.
Reports indicate that the woman had been out drinking near the Moulin Rouge when she was approached by a group of five men 'of African appearance.'
Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade released a statement on Wednesday, confirming that the Australian Embassy in Paris is offering consular assistance to the citizen who was assaulted.
"We understand that this is a very traumatic experience and stand ready to provide assistance," the statement said, withholding further details to protect the victim's privacy.
Meanwhile, the Australian Olympic team acknowledged the crime. The team's chief urged the nation's athletes to exercise extra caution during the Paris Games amid heightened security concerns.
The Paris prosecutor's office confirmed that police are investigating the allegations made by the 25-year-old Australian woman regarding the gang rape. Paris security authorities have been on high alert in the lead-up to the Olympic Games, which begin on Friday with an open-air ceremony on the River Seine. The city is deploying 35,000 police officers daily for the Olympics, with a peak of 45,000 for the opening ceremony. The Games run until August 11.
