Heavy lift launch vehicles: GSLV Mk-III vs Ariane-5

New Delhi, Feb 19: Ariane 5 is a European heavy-lift launch vehicle with a near impeccable record of launching heaviest of satellites into orbits. GSLV-Mk III is India's three-stage launch vehicle designed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). GSLV-Mk-III is the heaviest launch vehicle that India has and last year it successfully launched GSAT-29, weighing 3, 423 kg. It would really be fare to compare the two, but it is still worthwhile looking at the features of the two vehicles.
