The Kerala Story narrates the ordeal of three women who are sold off as sex slaves to the Islamic State in Afghanistan.
Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Sudipto Sen, the movie has evoked sharp reactions so far. There is a section that has sought a ban on the film. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the movie is propaganda by the RSS.
The movie is based on the case filed by the NIA which deals with the conversion of Nimisha and Sonia Sebastin. The NIA had filed a case and is investigating the same after 24 persons left Kerala to join the Islamic State in Afghanistan.

"If state government won't listen to us, we will explore legal avenues. However, whatever course we take will be based on legal advice," Shah told news agency ANI.
