Father's Love for daughter: What was Yakub Memon's last wish?

Mumbai, July 30: Yakub Memon has been hanged in Nagpur Central Jail on Thursday, July 30. 53-year-old was the sole convict of 1993 Bombay blasts who has been given death penalty.

Yakub was hanged around 6:30 am and doctor declared him dead after 30 minutes. His body has already been handed over to his family members who will bury him in Mumbai.

Following the procedure before death penalty, Yakub was asked about his last wish. According to sources, Yakub expressed his desire to meet his daughter before his execution.

Nagpur jail sources informed that Yakub said, "I want to meet my daughter." Yakub's brother, who received his body from the jail, later informed that jail authorities allowed Yakub to talk to his daughter over phone.

His brother was quoted as saying that Yakub was very happy and relieved after talking to his 21-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, sources also informed that Yakub wept when his family members had come to the jail to meet him for the last time.

Yakub's meeting with his family members lasted for more than one hour after which they drove away in a private vehicle.
