Woman Shot Dead In Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh; Police Probe Link To Husband’s 2023 Murder

A shocking incident took place in Delhi's Shalimar Bagh area on Friday morning when a woman, identified as Rachna Yadav, was shot dead near her residence. The incident happened around 11 a.m., causing panic among residents.

The area falls under the jurisdiction of the Shalimar Bagh police station, and a murder case has been registered.

Victim Was a Key Witness in Her Husband's Murder

According to officials, Rachna Yadav's killing may be connected to her husband's murder case from 2023. Nearly three years ago, her husband was shot dead by unidentified assailants. Since then, Rachna had been fighting a legal battle to bring the accused to justice.

She had even approached the Supreme Court of India after expressing dissatisfaction with the pace of the investigation.

Police revealed that Rachna was a key witness in her husband's case, and some of the accused are still on the run. Investigators suspect that the same individuals or their associates could be behind her murder, though they are also keeping other angles open.
A senior police officer said, "We are not ruling out any possibility at this stage. The investigation is being carried out from all directions to ensure the culprits are identified and arrested."
