Woman from Assam gang-raped in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 16: A 30-year-old woman from Assam was allegedly assaulted and gang-raped by four of her neighbours in west Delhi's Mundka area, police said on Saturday, Nov 15.

All the four accused have been arrested and sent to Tihar jail, police said. The woman has been living alone in the area since her husband passed away.

Rape

According to a complaint, the four neighbours had been harassing her for sometime. On November 8, they barged into her house, thrashed her and raped her.

"Hearing commotion in the house, someone made a PCR call following which a police team rushed to the spot and arrested the accused," a police officer said.

"The woman was rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital from where she was referred to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. She has recently been discharged from the hospital. Currently, she is being counselled," the officer said.

A case of gang-rape, house trespass and other relevant sections has been registered and further investigations are underway, the officer added.
