Will Jairam Ramesh lead Congress campaign in 2019 Lok Sabha polls?
Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Jairam Ramesh is likely to lead the campaign for Congress in 2019 General elections.
New Delhi, May 25: The all-important 2019 Lok Sabha elections are likely to take place in April-May next year, but almost all political parties are busy preparing for the polls, these days. Reports even suggest that the big elections might be preponed and will be hosted in December this year.
According to a report published by The Hindu, senior Congress leader and former Union minister Jairam Ramesh is likely to lead the campaign for Congress in 2019 General elections.

"He successfully helmed two campaigns in 2004 and 2009 and he was also part of the campaign committee in 2014 which was then chaired by Congress president Rahul Gandhi. So it was felt that he would be a good choice," a senior Congress leader was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
However, Ramesh told The Hindu that he is not aware of such a development. Randeep Surjewala, Congress media in-charge, told the English daily it was the Congress president Rahul Gandhi's prerogative to make such appointments.
During the swearing-in ceremony of Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru on Wednesday, the Congress and several other opposition parties (mostly the regional ones) came together as a mark of solidarity to the Opposition's unity against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre is all set to complete its four-year rule on Saturday. To mark its fourth anniversary at the Centre, the saffron party will be hosting various events across the country.
On the "happy occasion", the BJP will also launch its re-election campaign for the all-important 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
According to various media reports, on Saturday, the BJP will unveil a three-minute video showcasing the government's various achievements over the last four years. It will also release its slogan for re-election during the celebrations of its fourth anniversary.
After wooing voters with "Abki Baar Modi Sarkar" (This Time, Modi's Government) slogan in 2014, for the 2019 elections, the BJP's main campaign slogan will be "2019 Mein Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar" (In 2019, Modi Government Yet Again).
