We Need To Know Who's Behind This: PM Modi On Parliament Breach Incident
The seriousness of the security breach in Parliament cannot be underestimated, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first response to the incident, said on Sunday. He also called for no squabbling over the issue amid the Opposition's protests over the incident in Parliament.
Speaking to Hindi daily 'Dainik Jagran', the Prime Minister said probe agencies are investigating the incident and taking stringent measures, noting that it is equally necessary to go to the root of people behind it and their motives.

"The seriousness of this incident should not be downplayed. The (Lok Sabha) Speaker is taking all the necessary steps. Probe agencies are investigating the matter. It is important to find out which elements are behind this and what their objectives are. There is no need to debate this, there should be a detailed investigation into this,"
In a major security breach, two men - Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D - had jumped into the Lok Sabha's chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour on Wednesday, released yellow smoke from canisters and shouted slogans, before being overpowered by the MPs.
The Opposition parties have demanded a statement on the issue from Amit Shah with some asking for his resignation. However, the government has insisted that the security in Parliament complex is the responsibility of the Lok Sabha secretariat and it has been following the Speaker's directives.
Responding to queries regarding the BJP's selection of relatively fresh and lesser-known leaders as chief ministers in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, the PM mentioned that these leaders possess significant experience and a history of hard work.
Mocking those who raise questions about the BJP's decisions, he remarked that it is unfortunate for the country that a significant portion of individuals shaping society adheres to a clichéd and limited mindset. "This is not confined to only the political field. This nature troubles us in every field. If in any field, some name becomes big with some branding, then others do not get attention irrespective of their talent and hard work. A similar thing happens in politics," he said.
The media's focus for some decades has unfortunately been the most on a few families and due to this, talent and usefulness of new people are not being discussed, he said. "That is why you often see some people as new. But the truth is that they are not new. They have done the hard work and have their own experience," he added.
The BJP has chosen Vishnu Deo Sai, Mohan Yadav and Bhajan Lal Sharma as chief ministers of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively, by replacing former CMs Raman Singh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje.
