Was PM on the hit list of Kerala terror group al-Ummah
The blast outside the Mallapuram court is similar to the ones that were carried out in Chittoor, Kollam and Mysuru.
Bengaluru, Nov 3: A pen drive that was recovered from the blast site at Mallapuram had pictures of the Prime Minister among other leaders. A blast had taken place outside a court in Mallapuram, Kerala two days back. The blast was claimed by the Base Movement.

During investigations a pen drive have been recovered. Investigators have found a lot of material in the pen drive.
Pictures of the Prime Minister and other ministers were part of the pen drive. Further the investigators have got information about where the group was planning blasts in future. This will help investigators understand better the operation of the Base Movement an alias for the dreaded al-Ummah.
Three cars were damaged after a bomb exploded outside the court at Mallapuram in Kerala. The blast took place at around 1 PM and there were no injuries reported.
However a note found at the spot has once again raised concerns about the pattern in which courts are being targeted. The note which had the picture of the Indian map and Osama Bin Laden was found. The note was signed by a group called as the Base Movement.
The blast outside the Mallapuram court is similar to the ones that were carried out in Chittoor, Kollam and Mysuru. All these blasts were carried out this year itself between April and August.
In the aftermath of the Chittoor court blast, a letter had been sent out in which a group called as the Base Movement had claimed responsibility. In the letter a photograph of Osama Bin Laden too had been pasted.
In the aftermath of the Kollam blast, none had claimed responsibility for the same. However the police investigating the case had indicated that it may have been the handiwork of the Al-Ummah which now calls itself the Base Movement.
The Al-Ummah which has been under the scanner for several blasts including the one outside the BJP's Malleshwaram office in Bengaluru has changed its name in a bid to reduce the heat. The group now calls itself the Base Movement. It is just a ploy to divert attention, officials say.
