Voting For 6 Vacant Rajya Sabha Seats On December 20; Results On Same Day

In Andhra Pradesh, three Rajya Sabha members from Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP have resigned. Venkataramana Rao Mopidevi, Beedha Masthan Rao Yadav, and Ryaga Krishnaiah stepped down, necessitating new elections. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu, is likely to secure all three seats.

Odisha will elect one member to the Rajya Sabha following Sujeet Kumar's resignation from the BJD. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to win this seat. Naveen Patnaik leads the BJD in Odisha.

West Bengal's ruling party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), is set to retain its Rajya Sabha seat after Jawhar Sircar resigned. Mamata Banerjee's TMC is confident of maintaining control over this position.

In Haryana, Krishan Lal Panwar of the BJP resigned from his Rajya Sabha seat. He left to contest in the Haryana Assembly elections from Israna constituency. Panwar currently serves as Development and Panchayat Minister in Nayab Singh Saini's Cabinet. The BJP is expected to keep this seat.
