Pakistan Day Controversy hits India: #PartyWithEnemy turns out to be costly for VK Singh

Bengaluru, March 24: Controversy over VK Singh and Pakistan Day celebration is yet to die down as many people in India seem disappointed with the former Army chief and Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs.

Micro-blogging site Twitter has been flooded with comments on VK Singh who landed in the controversy as he attended the celebration of Pakistan Day at the country's high commission in New Delhi on Monday, March 23.

Noticing media and Opposition's reactions, VK Singh on Monday tweeted, "#'Disgust'ed to see how certain sections of the media are twisting this issue."

He also added, "#DUTY A task or action that a person is bound to perform for moral or legal reasons." [Attending Pakistan Day celebrations: 'Disgusted' VK Singh tweets]

However, his tweet did not go well with Opposition and many others. Congress leader Manish Tewari claimed that if Singh is so disgusted with double standards of his own government on Pakistan, he should quit.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy defended VK Singh and tweeted, "Why media and Congi want Gen Singh to quit his Ministership? Just because he is not a rubber stamp Ji Huzoors like Congi reptiles?"

While, Congress and BJP leaders were busy in debating over VK Singh's 'resignation', twitterati reacted over the controversy. VK Singh and #PartyWithEnemy have been trending as hash tags on Twitter.
