Veteran communist leader Govind Pansare, wife shot at
Kolhapur (Maharashtra), Feb 16: Veteran communist leader Govind P. Pansare and his wife were shot at near their home in Sagarmala here on Monday morning, officials said.
According to preliminary information, around 8 a.m. two unidentified assailants accosted the couple on their morning walk and fired at least four rounds from close range before fleeing.

The 82-year old lawyer and writer, and his wife have been taken to Astor Aadhar Hospital where they are underoing surgery for bullet injuries.
Minister of State for Home Ram Shinde condemned the incident and said that road blocks have been ordered all over the state to nab the culprits.
