Uttarakhand Engineer Takes Life Following Heavy Stock Market Losses and Financial Struggles

A chemical engineer in Uttarakhand tragically committed suicide after facing severe financial difficulties due to stock market losses. His distress was compounded by personal issues, including a property dispute and family separation.

An engineer reportedly ended his life by sealing himself in a smoke-filled room due to significant stock market losses, according to police on Thursday. A suicide note was found in the room where Love Kumar expressed that financial difficulties and a property dispute drove him to this decision, police stated.

Love Kumar, a chemical engineer, generated smoke by burning coal on a heater in his room and locked himself inside, resulting in death from asphyxiation. Prior to this, he had sent a WhatsApp message to his wife, threatening suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.

Financial Struggles and Personal Issues

Kumar was severely affected by stock market losses and turned to alcohol. This habit caused his wife to leave with their children for her parents' home. After receiving Kumar's alarming message, she tried calling him multiple times but received no response.

Senior Sub-Inspector Satyendra Bhandari from Kankhal police station reported that the incident took place on Wednesday in Arihant Vihar. Upon seeing Kumar's message, his family hurried to the location when he did not answer his phone.

Emergency Response and Investigation

When police arrived and forced open the door, they found the room filled with smoke and Kumar unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The police have initiated further investigations into the matter.
