Uttarakhand Flash Flood: PM Modi Expresses Grief, Assures Every Possible Help

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to those impacted by the recent disaster in Dharali, Uttarkashi. Through a post on handle X, he expressed his prayers for the victims' recovery and assured that the government is actively working to provide aid. A cloudburst led to a landslide and flash flood in Dharali village, Uttarakhand, leaving several feared dead and over 50 missing.

The cloudburst occurred above the Kheer Ganga river, causing significant destruction as numerous houses, hotels, and buildings were swept away by the floodwaters. "I express my condolences to the people affected by this tragedy in Dharali, Uttarkashi. Along with this, I pray for the well-being of all the victims," stated PM Modi in his post.

Government's Swift Response

PM Modi has been in communication with Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami to gather information about the situation. He confirmed that relief and rescue teams are operating under state government supervision to offer every possible assistance. The Prime Minister emphasized that efforts are being made tirelessly to support those affected.

Home Minister Amit Shah also engaged with Uttarakhand's Chief Minister to assess the aftermath of the devastating cloudburst. Sources from the Home Ministry revealed that both Indo-Tibetan Border Police and National Disaster Response Force have been instructed to promptly reach the disaster site for rescue and relief operations.
