sexual assault case on Sunday:

03.50 pm: Sushilkumar Shinde says Centre won't interfere in Tejpal issue, adds that Congress not shielding him

01.25 pm: Tarun Tejpal sent to 6-days police custody.

01.05 pm: Sessions Court rejects bail plea. Says Prima Facia proof of rape. Tejpal arrested.

12.35 pm: Goa police to cover courtroom proceedings. Block reporters from entering.

12.25 pm: Tejpal appears before the judicial magistrate.

11.45 am: Tejpal reaches court.

11.10 am: Tejpal's legal team reaches crime branch.

10.40 am: Tejpal undergoes medical test.

10.30 am: Goa Police likely to seek 14-day custody for Tarun Tejpal.

9.30 am: Tejpal to be produced before the judicial magistrate on Sunday. He spent the Saturday night with two murder accused and another person in the lock-up in Goa.

10.30 pm: The NCW welcomed the decision of Tarun Tejpal's arrest and said that justice was done. Tejpal will be taken for custodial interrogation soon.

9.32 pm: Tarun Tejpal is officially arrested by the Goa police. He will be produced before the judicial magistrate tomorrow.

8.35 pm: Tarun Tejpal's lawyer Geeta Luthra said that her client was cooperating with the police and the law and that he was at the Crime Branch without being served any summons.She went on to add that they along with Tejpal will be joining the investigation soon.

8.08 pm: After hours of waiting, the Sessions court rejected Tarun Tejpal's bail plea today. Tarun Tejpal is likely to be arrested soon and will be taken for a medical examination.

The judge however allowed Tejpal to meet his family and also be served home cooked food after the arrest.

4.45 pm: Tarun Tejpal reaches Crime Branch office. He arrived on his own , reports said and won't be questioned.

4.33 pm: Senior Goa police personnel reach sessions court ahead of court order.

12:45pm: Sessions court order on Tejpal's anticipatory bail plea expected at 4:30pm today.

12:00 pm: CCTV confirms that what Tejpal did was rape, argued the prosecusion at Goa sessions court. Truth will come out during custodial interrogation, they argued.

Tejpal has been changing versions of the incident, the prosecution argued. They also said that Tejpal was not willing to surface till it was assured that he will not be arrested.

11:30: Tejpal's lawyer wraps up and the prosecution began their arguements. Offence is serious, prosecution, reportedly, told the Goa sessions court. If victim made a commotion, it would have led to forfeiture of her job, they argued.

10:20 am: Tejpal's anticipatory bail hearing begins in Goa sessions court. Prosecution reportedly seeks 14 days custody of Tejpal. defence argues that Tejpal is cooperating with the probe.

Defence lawyer told the court that Tarun will provide his mobile number and won't travel to Mumbai where the victim's family resides. they also argued that Tejpal's arrest could have 'far reaching consequences' and arrest should be the last option in this case. Tejpal, reportedly, offered to surrender his passport to the court.

10:00 am: Crime Branch team reaches Goa sessions court. The bail plea hearing will begin shortly.

9:30 am: Tarun Tejpal left Goa crime branch office. "I was asked to join the investigation and I have already done so, " Tejpal reportedly said.

Tejpal reached Goa on Friday along with his wife, daughters and brother. Court is set to hear bail plea shortly.
