Sisters punished for brother's sin: Khap panchayat orders rape of 2 girls

Lucknow, Aug 19: What can be more shocking than the diktat in which a Khap panchayat ordered villagers to rape two sisters.

The Khap panchayat ordered villagers to rape the two girls first and then paraded them naked.

The infamous panchayat issued the shocking diktat while delivering a judgment in connection with an eloping case.

It has been reported that a man, a Dalit, is a resident of the village. He eloped with a married woman, who belongs to Jat community. Now, his sisters have been punished.

The horrible incident took place in Uttar Pradesh. One of the victims now moved the Supreme Court seeking justice for herself and for her family.

In her police complaint, the victim reported that Jat community held the khap panchayat where the diktat was issued.

It has been reported that the house of the victims was ransacked. Their family members were forced to flee to Delhi.

Hearing the case on Tuesday, Aug 18, the apex court now issued notice to the state government seeking response within two weeks.
