Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy work gained national attention during the 18th Civil Services Day at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. In a breakaway session titled 'Accelerating India's Net-Zero Path through PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana', experts discussed how the state is supporting rooftop solar, cleaner power and net-zero goals.

The state’s strategy was showcased by Narendra Bhushan, Secretary of the Department of Land Resources, who joined as a panelist. Narendra Bhushan described how Uttar Pradesh is using PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana to expand rooftop solar, raise energy self-reliance and deliver direct gains to citizens.

The presentation at Civil Services Day underlined that Uttar Pradesh’s policies and implementation model are becoming reference points for other states.
