UP: Mentally ill woman throws son from 11th floor, jumps off to death in Kanpur

A mentally ill woman committed suicide by juimping off fromt he 11th floor of a residential building after throwing her seven-year-old son. The incident took place at Indiranagar area in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur city on Sunday.

According to police, Jaya Agarwal (33), wife of charted accounted Pawan Agarwal took the extreme step apparently after a severe schizophrenic attack.

It is learnt that Pawan and Jaya and along with their son had visited their newly owned flat. Jaya suffered a severe psychosis attack and threw her son from the balcony of the 11th floor of the apartments. When Pawan rushed towards hi son on hearing his screams. Jaya as well jumped from the building.

Both the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
