UP Govt To Introduce Smart Classrooms In Ayurveda, Homeopathy Colleges Across 17 Districts

Ayurveda and Homeopathy education in Uttar Pradesh is set to change with digital tools. The Yogi Adityanath government is preparing to link Ayush medical studies with modern technology. Smart classes will be created in selected colleges, and a new dress code rule will also apply in state universities and degree colleges.

According to the plan, 51 smart classrooms will come up in 17 Ayurveda and Homeopathy medical colleges across the state. These rooms will use advanced digital systems and a Learning Management System (LMS). Students will be able to learn through interactive content, online material and audio-visual support within the classroom environment.

Ayush Director-General and Mission Director Chaitra V. stated that smart classrooms will run in Ayush colleges as per the Chief Minister’s instructions. Each room will include Interactive Flat Panels (IFP), audio-video systems and digital learning tools. These facilities aim to support digital collaboration, real-time interaction and online study options for students and teachers.

The Learning Management System will act as the backbone of the Ayush smart classroom project. Through LMS, teachers will upload study material, assignments and online lectures on one common platform. Progress reports will also stay available there. The system will help students access notes and recorded lessons at any time, even outside college hours.

Ayush smart classroom rollout in 17 colleges

Under this initiative, 17 Ayush colleges have been selected for smart classroom installation. The list includes State Homeopathic Medical Colleges in Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Ghazipur, Moradabad, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur and Aligarh. Ayurveda colleges in Lucknow, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Muzaffarnagar, Banda, Jhansi, Prayagraj and Varanasi are also covered in the first phase.

Across these institutions, a total of 51 Ayush smart classrooms will be developed. Uttar Pradesh Electronics Corporation has been named the executing agency for the work. The corporation will handle procurement, installation and technical integration. The aim is to ensure that every identified college receives multiple digital rooms, based on its student strength and course needs.

Ayush smart classroom LMS and digital content access

Through the LMS-based Ayush smart classroom network, a centralised digital repository will be created for all Ayush institutes in Uttar Pradesh. This repository will store e-content, reference material and recorded lectures. Students will be able to download or stream content on devices from any location, which may reduce dependence on printed notes and physical libraries.

The central platform is also expected to improve coordination among different Ayush colleges. Faculty from one institution will share lecture videos or presentations with others through the system. This can help standardise teaching quality and make specialised content available to smaller campuses. The structure supports better use of teaching resources within the Ayush education network.

Ayush smart classroom initiative and uniform rule in higher education

Alongside the Ayush smart classroom scheme, the state government has moved to enforce uniforms in higher education. Universities and degree colleges in Uttar Pradesh will now have a compulsory dress code for students. The step aims to strengthen equality and discipline on campus, and to reduce visible economic and social differences among learners.

The decision to make uniforms mandatory was issued by the Higher Education Department within 24 hours of directions from Governor Anandiben Patel. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that universities and colleges will follow a strict dress code. Each institution will decide one uniform, and every student will wear the same pattern during classes and formal events.

Yogendra Upadhyay explained that the uniform policy is meant to prevent any sense of higher or lower status among students. According to the minister, the standard dress code is considered necessary to limit discrimination based on appearance. Institutions are expected to design the uniform keeping practicality, climate and affordability in mind, though those details were not shared yet.

On one side, digital tools and LMS platforms are entering Ayurveda and Homeopathy colleges.
