Danve, who held the portfolio of Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, quit the Council of Ministers over the principle of 'one-man, one-post', the sources said.

Danve had taken over as the Maharashtra BJP president after Devendra Fadnavis, under whose leadership the party came to power in the October 15 Assembly polls last year in the state, became the Chief Minister.

A four-time member of Lok Sabha from Jalna in the Marathwada region, Danve has risen through the ranks after entering politics at the panchayat level. He has said he will concentrate on party affairs in the state.
