Twitter Blue Subscription launched in India: This is how much it will cost
To have a blue tick on Twitter, now one has to pay for the subscription. The service was earlier free and a while ago it has been launched in India
New Delhi, Feb 09: Twitter has rolled out the Blue Subscription Service for users in India.
On February 9, Twitter rolled out this service in Brazil and Indonesia as well. There are two plans available for Twitter users. While the annual plan will cost Rs 6,800 billed at 566.7 a month, in the monthly plan users will have to pay Rs 650 a month.

Twitter at the moment is only accepting card payments such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. The UPI or Rupay options are currently not available.
At Rs 900 per month, Android and iOS users will however have to pay more for the service.
The additional charges may be because of the fees Google and Apple charge per subscription. Android and iOS users can only pay this fee through the Play Store or App Store for subscription.
Last year, Twitter updated the version of Blue Subscription with several additional features such as the ability to edit a tweet, organise bookmarks, customise the application icon, high quality videos at 1080p and more. More features such as top priority in replies, mentions in searches, lesser ads, ability to post longer videos and early access to new features are on the cards. Twitter Blue users will get a verified badge which would be subject to manual verification.
Twitter boss, Elon Musk had said that he would remove all legacy blue checks in a few months time. He felt that the way in which blue ticks were given out earlier were corrupt and nonsensical. He said that the company would expand its services to other companies soon.

Twitter Blue for business is another service that the platform is testing. This would be for corporate organisations on the platforms. Those subscribed to this service get a gold checkmark which distinguishes the account as an official business on Twitter.
The Twitter Blue Tick was introduced and was a verification badge which indicated that the account is of public interest. The verification process was designed to establish the authenticity of identities of key individuals and brands on the platform to prevent impersonation.
As per the earlier process, if a person believed that their account is eligible for verification, they could submit a verification request to Twitter. All such requests were however not approved.
