Twist in Jiah Khan case: Multiple pregnancies and abortions led to suicide

Mumbai, Dec 10: A recent CBI chargesheet states alleged that Sooraj Pancholi was responsible for abetting the suicide of Jiah Khan. It also stated that the actor had fabricated answers while interrogation, which were essential for investigation.

It also stated that multiple pregnancies, followed by abortions on the insistence of Sooraj Pancholi left Jiah Khan depressed and led to her committing suicide.

Incidentally, Jihah Khan was four weeks pregnant when she informed Pancholi about it. On consulting a doctor, the duo decided to terminate the foetus medically. However, the medicines failed and they chose to approach a gynaecologist who prescribed a different combination of drugs.

The chargesheet further said,"After taking the medicine, Khan started haemorrhaging and called Pancholi for help.She was in pain and needed immediate medical attention but Pancholi allegedly asked her to wait and called up the gynaecologist for guidance. He was asked to rush Khan to hospital as the foetus had probably aborted but had not been expelled from the body, which is probably what led to the hemorrhaging."

Apprehensive of his future in the film industry if the relationship was revealed, Pancholi avoided going to the hospital. He extricated the foetus himself and flushed it down the toilet. Jiah Khan had also claimed that she was pregnant with Sooraj's child many times and all the times she was forced to abort.

The report came to light when the sessions court tapped CBI for the status of the report in the case.
