TN elections 2021: Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM seals poll deal with TTV Dhinakaran's AMMK
Chennai, Mar 08: After its success in Bihar Assembly elections, Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM has allegedly sealed a poll alliance with TTV Dhinakaran's Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly election.

It can be seen that the Hyderabad MP's party performed remarkably well in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections by winning five crucial Muslim-dominated constituencies of the 14 seats it had contested.

Elections to the 234-member Assembly in Tamil Nadu will be held in a single phase on April 6. The counting of votes will be done on May 2. Dhinakaran's aunt VK Sasikala recently decided to "stay away from politics" ahead of the election, leaving him all alone in the political battlefield.

Dhinakara had launched his own party he and Sasikala were ousted from the AIADMK following her conviction in a corruption case.
In 2017, Dhinakaran, in a big setback to the AIADMK, had won the RK Nagar assembly constituency which was earlier represented by former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, who passed away in 2016.
