In Madhya Pradesh, three police teams have been established to capture an expelled BJP leader involved in a Rs 5 crore drug case. The accused, Rahul Anjana, escaped during a police operation that seized significant narcotics.
Authorities in Madhya Pradesh's Agar Malwa district have intensified efforts to apprehend a former BJP leader after seizing narcotics valued at approximately Rs 5 crore. Rahul Anjana, previously the vice-president of the BJP's Tanodia Mandal unit, was expelled from the party following his implication in the drug case. Three police teams have been assembled to locate him, according to an official statement.

On Friday, police discovered a significant haul of drugs and chemicals from two vehicles in Agar Malwa. The seized items included 9.2 kg of ketamine worth Rs 4.62 crore, 12.1 kg of ammonium chloride, 35 litres of isopropyl alcohol valued at Rs 25 lakh, and 6 gm of mephedrone. These substances collectively amounted to about Rs 5 crore. Rahul, who was driving one of the cars, managed to flee while two others, Ishwar Malviya and Daulat Singh Anjana, were captured.
Police Investigation and Arrests
The police have also confiscated laboratory equipment such as a vacuum oven, magnetic stirrer, and glassware during their operation. Additionally, a gram panchayat seal and four mobile phones were seized. Experts noted that the ketamine could potentially produce 72 kg of MD, which holds a value of Rs 350 crore on the international market.
Rahul's involvement in the case led to his expulsion from the BJP. Om Malviya, BJP’s Agar Malwa district president, stated, "Whatever Rahul has done is highly objectionable. The party will not tolerate such people and wants strict action against those involved in the drug trade." Rahul's mother serves as the sarpanch of Thadoda village, but he managed all gram panchayat duties on her behalf.
Legal Proceedings and Party Expulsion
The two arrested individuals appeared in court on Saturday and were remanded in police custody for seven days. Superintendent of Police Vinod Singh mentioned that three teams are actively searching for Rahul but refrained from providing further details to avoid compromising the investigation.
Documents retrieved from Rahul’s residence indicate his previous work as a commission agent in the tube well boring industry. The trio involved in this case has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). The police continue their search for Rahul with teams led by Agar City Superintendent of Police Motilal Kushwaha.
The BJP's decision to expel Rahul underscores their stance against illegal activities within their ranks. The ongoing investigation aims to bring all involved parties to justice while maintaining strict confidentiality to ensure its success.
