New Delhi, Sep 6: The decision of the Telengana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government to dissolve the state government may appear to have for the benefit of the ruling party or a strategic move by the TRS but its impact will reach up to Delhi as it is going to impact the decision of the ruling BJP at the Centre. Now all eyed will be glued to Election Commission of India.
In a scenario, where the BJP was pitching for One Nation, One Poll the decision of the Telengana government appears to be a big set back for the government. If sources are to be believed, the BJP was still trying to hold Assembly elections of the BJP-ruled state whose elections are not too far from the Lok Sabha elections with the 2019 Lok Sabha elections but the decision taken by the Telengana government has punctured the entire BJP move.
There were three states whose elections were supposed to be held with the Lok Sabha - Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and Odisha. The BJP wanted to increased it to states like Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan and if possible Haryana and Jharkhand. But this decision of the Telengana has if not changed then will surely impact many moves of the BJP and the government at the Centre.
So will the election of Telengana be held along with four states - MP, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Mijoram as they should be held by November or they too will be dragged to the next year and will be held with the Lok Sabha elections. As per the rule book, no Assembly can remain dissolved more than for six months.
A political analyst Rajvir Sharma said that now the focus will be on Delhi that what is the next move. The BJP that was working on a particular strategy will have to devise a new strategy in view of the dissolve Telengana Assembly. The party that was working with a target of April elections for Telengana will have to change its plan.
Moreover, as per the sources from Election Commission of India if the ECI is not ready get polls conducted on time where elections are supposed to be held six months before how would it be possible for it to do it in Telengana. So all eyes will be fixed at the Centre and the CEC to take any decision.
