Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy Urges Officials to Expedite Paddy Procurement for Farmers
Telangana's Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, has instructed district collectors and officials to speed up the procurement of paddy. During a video conference, he emphasised that farmers should face no issues when selling their produce. He noted that the process of procuring paddy and making payments to farmers is being handled efficiently.

Paddy Procurement and Payments
Reddy highlighted the importance of procuring fine and coarse paddy varieties separately. He insisted that farmers receive immediate payment for their produce. A bonus of Rs 500 is to be given for the fine variety of paddy. The Chief Minister also stressed the need for basic facilities at procurement centres.
Officials have been tasked with closely monitoring the procurement process. Ministers and officers assigned to oversee this task are expected to visit centres regularly. They must ensure smooth operations and report on paddy procurement daily, according to an official release.
Farmers' Satisfaction and Harvest Details
The payment of a bonus for fine paddy has been well-received by farmers. Paddy has already been harvested from 66 lakh acres in Telangana, with another 20 lakh acres still pending harvest. This extensive cultivation highlights the importance of efficient procurement processes.
The Chief Minister has also planned an agriculture exhibition in Mahabubnagar on November 28 and 29. This event will showcase modern farming techniques and mechanisation. It will be followed by a farmers' festival on November 30, aiming for successful engagement with the farming community.
These initiatives reflect the government's commitment to supporting farmers through effective procurement strategies and educational events. The focus remains on ensuring that agricultural activities proceed smoothly, benefiting both farmers and the state's economy.
