Tejashwi Yadav Takes Aim at Nitish Kumar, Unveils BAAP Acronym in Bihar

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, accusing him of lacking vision and frequently changing alliances. Yadav introduced the acronym BAAP, highlighting the RJDs commitment to all marginalized groups, not just Muslims and Yadavs. He embarked on the Jan Vishwas Yatra, seeking a political insurance for himself as he aims to cover all 38 districts of Bihar.

Patna, February 20: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday, accusing him of lacking vision and switching alliance partners without any valid reasons. Yadav also introduced a new acronym, 'BAAP', to emphasize that the RJD cares for all sections of society, including Bahujans, Agda upper castes, Aadhi Aabadi women, and the poor, not just Muslims and Yadavs.

Tejashwi Yadavs BAAP Acronym: A Game-Changer in Bihar Politics

Inaugural Day of 'Jan Vishwas Yatra'

Yadav addressed three consecutive rallies in Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, and Sheohar on the inaugural day of the 'Jan Vishwas Yatra,' a statewide tour aimed at covering all 38 districts of Bihar. During this yatra, Yadav seeks to earn the trust and support of the people, referring to it as a "political insurance" for himself.

Criticism of Nitish Kumar's Leadership

Yadav criticized Nitish Kumar for his lack of vision and frequent changes in political alliances. He highlighted his own efforts in fulfilling the promise of 10 lakh jobs during his tenure as deputy CM, expressing disappointment that Kumar abandoned the alliance midway. Yadav emphasized the need for young leadership in Bihar and sought a five-year term to transform the state.

'BAAP' Acronym and BJP's Response

Yadav introduced the acronym 'BAAP' to counter the perception that the RJD is solely a party of Muslims and Yadavs. He explained that 'BAAP' represents Bahujans, Agda upper castes, Aadhi Aabadi women, and the poor, encompassing a broader spectrum of society. This witticism drew cheers from the crowd, but it also prompted a response from the BJP.

BJP spokesperson Manoj Kumar Sharma seized the opportunity to remark that Tejashwi Yadav's statement inadvertently acknowledged the RJD as the party of 'maai-baap,' referring to Yadav's parents, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, who have both served as chief ministers of Bihar.

Yadav's Allegations Against the BJP

Yadav accused the BJP of diverting attention from pressing issues like poverty and unemployment by resorting to divisive rhetoric based on religious differences. He also raised concerns about the manipulation of election results, citing the recent Supreme Court judgment on the Chandigarh mayoral polls and alleged irregularities in the 2020 Bihar assembly elections.

Stage Collapse and Undeterred Address

At Sitamarhi, an unexpected incident occurred when the makeshift stage collapsed before Yadav could reach the venue. Despite the setback, Yadav remained unfazed and addressed the crowd from the rooftop of his bus, demonstrating his resilience and commitment to connecting with the people.

Tejashwi Yadav's 'Jan Vishwas Yatra' marks a significant moment in Bihar's political landscape, as he seeks to challenge the leadership of Nitish Kumar and present himself as a credible alternative. The yatra provides a platform for Yadav to engage with the people, address their concerns, and garner support for his vision of a transformed Bihar.
