Swaraj's Diwali gift to Pakistan, to grant visas to all those seeking medical treatment
In what can be seen as a goodwill gesture towards Pakistani nationals, India has issued 13 medical visas so far this month to neighbouring country's citizens seeking treatment.
In a tweet, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj asked Pakistan nationals to contact the Indian High Commission in this regard.
"On the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, India will grant medical Visa in all deserving cases pending today," Swaraj tweeted.
On Wednesday, she had directed the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to issue a visa to a Pakistani child for medical treatment in India.
The child's father, Kashif Chacha, had requested Swaraj on Twitter to grant a medical visa for treatment of Abdullah, saying he needed post-liver transplant evaluation in India.

In another tweet, Swaraj said medical visa has also been approved to a Pakistani woman, who wants to undergo liver surgery in India. Earlier, the woman's son, Rafique Memon, had requested Swaraj's intervention for granting the visa to his mother.
