Steve Jobs' Wife Laurene Powell Makes Swift Exit from Maha Kumbh, Travels to Bhutan
Laurene Powell Jobs, the philanthropist and widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, has embraced Sanatan Dharma, taking on the new spiritual name 'Kamala' after undergoing a significant spiritual ceremony. This transformative event took place amid the sacred atmosphere of the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, where she received 'deeksha' and the 'beej (guru) mantra' from her spiritual guide, Niranjani Peethadheeshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri. Her spiritual journey included participating in a yagya, a ritual that marks her dedication to her new faith.

Following the ceremony, Laurene, now known as Kamala, is poised to deepen her engagement with Sanatan Dharma. She has committed to revisiting the Mela for the final 'Amrit Snan' on Basant Panchami, scheduled for February 3. Despite missing the first holy dip on January 14 due to health concerns, her anticipation to partake in the sacred Sangam waters remains high. This act symbolizes a further step into her spiritual path under the guidance of Swami Kailashanand Giri, who has been instrumental in her spiritual awakening.
During her stay in the tent city at Mahakumbh Nagar, Laurene Powell Jobs experienced the profound spirituality and values of Sanatan Dharma firsthand. Under the tutelage of Swami Kailashanand Giri, she embarked on a journey that led her to a deeper understanding and connection with the faith. Her initiation and subsequent rituals signify a marked transformation, embracing a new spiritual identity with the blessings of her guru.
In a significant move by the Bhutan government, Laurene Powell Jobs was invited as a state guest, further highlighting her influential status and the importance of her visit. A special chartered plane was dispatched to Bamrauli airport on Wednesday, marking the continuation of her spiritual and diplomatic journey. Accompanied by her staff, she proceeded to Bhutan, indicating the international recognition and respect she commands.
Swami Kailashanand Giri, after conducting the sacred rituals, bestowed upon Laurene the 'beej (guru) mantra' of Maa Kali. He also sprinkled Ganga Jal, sanctifying her with the holy waters that are central to the rituals of Sanatan Dharma. Through these acts, Laurene's spiritual transformation was symbolically completed, with her guru instructing her to chant the mantra several times daily, reinforcing her commitment to her new spiritual path.
