Mumbai: TV actor, Splitsvilla contestant rapes co-actor, goes missing

Mumbai, Nov 25: Yash Pandit, a TV actor, has been accused of raping his co-actor on the pretext of marriage. The actress filed a legal case against Yash, who was the contestant of popular TV reality show Splitsvilla 8.

Yash, who currently has gone missing, allegedly raped the woman repeatedly and later started avoiding her.

Mumbai Police sources confirmed that a case has been registered against Yash and 3-4 different teams of police have been trying to locate his whereabouts.

According to sources, Yash met the complainant on a set of a TV show in Sept 2015. The duo allegedly started dating each other and Yash on the pretext of marriage made advances towards the girl.

He allegedly had invited the actress to his apartment in Juhu, Mumbai and allegedly raped her several times. Recently, he allegedly took the actress to his residence on the pretext of introducing her to his parents.

However, Yash suddenly stopped interacting with the actress and started avoiding her calls. Disappointed with Yash's behaviour, she approached Mumbai Police and filed FIR against him.

Media reports quoted the actress as saying, "He only had intentions of developing a physical relationship with me. He confessed to me that he had sexual relationships with other girls."

"They perhaps did not approach the cops, because they were scared of being defamed. But, I wanted to teach him a lesson to get his nefarious intentions out in public view," added the actress, whose identity has not been disclosed yet.

Yash Pandit became popular in Hindi television world with his role as Lakshya Virani in popular TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
