Spend One Night In Village: Prashant Kishor Challenges Rahul Gandhi's Commitment To Bihar

Prashant Kishor, leader of the Jan Suraaj Party, has criticised Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, accusing him of making superficial gestures rather than engaging genuinely with Bihar's politics.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Kishor challenged Gandhi to demonstrate his connection to Bihar by spending a night in one of its villages. "Rahul ji keeps coming and going here, but doesn't really undertake any Yatra. If Rahul Gandhi has ever spent even one night in a village in Bihar, let us know. If he can spend just one night in a village, we'll accept it," he stated.

Political Dynamics and Accusations

The Jan Suraaj chief also criticised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for derogatory remarks about Biharis. Kishor demanded an apology from Reddy and condemned Congress for years of neglect towards Bihar. He highlighted Reddy's statement that Biharis are inherently suited for labour work due to their DNA.

"In Telangana, their Chief Minister is Revanth Reddy, it's been two years since he became CM. Before that, he was in the TDP (Telugu Desam Party), and before that, he was in the RSS and the BJP. After becoming Chief Minister, he officially stated that doing labour is in the DNA of Biharis," Kishor remarked.

Historical Context and Criticism

Kishor recalled former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's promise to transform Bihar into a development hub back in 1989. He questioned where the promised funds went and criticised Congress for failing to deliver on its promises during its tenure.

"If Congress apologised for the injustice done to Sikhs, then Rahul Gandhi should apologise to Biharis as well before campaigning in Bihar," Kishor asserted. He questioned why Gandhi would campaign in Bihar if Biharis were only meant for labour work.

Electoral Prospects and Alliances

When asked about Congress's prospects in the upcoming elections, Kishor suggested their success depends on Lalu Prasad Yadav's support. "Congress has no real existence in Bihar. For the past 25-30 years, it's been a party that just carries Lalu ji's bag," he commented.
