Sonia Gandhi Health Update: Congress Leader Stable, Under Observation at Ganga Ram Hospital

Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, who was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on Sunday, June 15, is currently stable and responding well to treatment, hospital authorities confirmed. The 78-year-old senior Congress leader was hospitalised after experiencing stomach-related issues.

Sonia Gandhi Hospitalised: Condition Stable, Discharge Date Not Finalised

According to Dr Ajay Swaroop, Chairman of the Board of Management at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, "Sonia Gandhi is stable and responding well to treatment. She is recovering from a stomach infection. Her diet is being closely monitored, and she remains under observation. As a precautionary measure, her discharge date has not yet been decided."

Doctors Dr S Nundy and Dr Amitabh Yadav are closely monitoring her health, the hospital said in its official update.

Earlier Health Check-Ups and Medical History

Earlier on June 9, the veteran leader underwent a routine medical check-up at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Prior to that, she had undergone a few tests at the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla after complaining of high blood pressure.

Dr Aman Chauhan, Deputy Medical Superintendent at IGMC, clarified that "Her blood pressure was slightly on the higher side, but there is nothing serious. No additional tests were conducted; only routine investigations were carried out. She was not given any special medical advice because everything was perfectly fine."
