Family Alleges Murder Linked To Rejected Marriage Proposal
According to police and the victim's family, Inder Kaur, a resident of Jamalpur in Ludhiana, was allegedly targeted after she rejected a marriage proposal from a Canada-based man identified as Sukhwinder Singh. Her brother had earlier accused Sukhwinder of orchestrating her abduction.
The family claimed that the accused had developed a friendship with Inder Kaur through Instagram around three years ago. However, tensions reportedly escalated after she discovered that he was already married and had children. Following this, she allegedly decided to end all ties with him and refused to marry him.
Two Arrested, Main Accused Escapes To Canada
Police said Sukhwinder Singh fled to Canada after allegedly planning the crime. Officials confirmed that his father, Pritam Singh, and his associate, Karamjit Singh, have been arrested in connection with the case.
Investigators revealed that the accused allegedly travelled from Canada to Punjab through Nepal and hired two taxis from Moga to carry out the abduction. After allegedly killing Inder Kaur near the canal in Ludhiana, he reportedly escaped back to Canada using the same Nepal route.
"The body has been sent to Samrala Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Further investigation into the matter is underway," a police officer said.
Singer Had Left Music Industry Five Years Ago
