A snake measuring four feet caused panic at the Civil Hospital in Thane district on Monday. It slipped from a rescuer's grip and entered a doctor's cabin, prompting patients, nurses, and relatives to flee in fear, according to hospital officials. The incident occurred shortly after two residents bitten by non-venomous dhaman snakes arrived for treatment.

The hospital is temporarily located within the psychiatric hospital premises due to construction of a new super-specialty building at its original site. This temporary setup contributed to the chaos when the snake escaped. The rescuer had brought the snakes for identification by doctors when one slipped away inside the tent-based structure.

Snake Causes Panic in Hospital

The snake first entered the male ward before moving into a doctor's cabin. A nurse saw it and shouted for help, causing patients and relatives to rush out in panic, an official from the hospital administration reported. The rescuer quickly recaptured the snake, averting further disturbance.

Fortunately, both snakes were non-venomous, and no harm came to staff or patients. The rescuer confirmed this after capturing the snake within minutes. The panic was driven by fear rather than any real medical threat, as stated by a hospital official.

Temporary Hospital Setup

The two individuals bitten by the snakes received prompt treatment and are in stable condition. The incident highlighted the challenges faced by the hospital operating from temporary premises. A video of the event has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.

Despite the chaos, the situation was resolved swiftly without any injuries. The hospital continues to function while construction progresses at its original location. This episode underscores the importance of maintaining calm in unexpected situations.
