Sikkim Governor OP Mathur Praised for Impactful Leadership Among BJP Workers

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma praised Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur for his impactful work within the BJP. Sharma highlighted Mathur's efforts in advancing and empowering BJP workers, noting his significant contributions to culture and ideology.

During a programme held at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur, where Mathur was honoured, Sharma remarked on Mathur's lifelong dedication. "The work Mathur has done throughout his life regarding culture and ideology, he has touched heights while working as a worker," Sharma said.

Mathur's Political Journey

BJP state president Madan Rathore shared insights into Mathur's background, noting his humble beginnings in a small village. Rathore emphasised Mathur's disciplined approach and determination, mentioning his collaborations with senior leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani, and Murli Manohar Joshi.

"Today he is working shoulder to shoulder with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of the country," Rathore stated. This underscores Mathur's ongoing commitment to national progress alongside top leadership.

Admiration from Peers

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also lauded Mathur, contrasting his humility with others who become arrogant with minor achievements. "Some people start seeing themselves as goldsmiths after acquiring just a brass clove... No matter how high Om Mathur rises, he always remains down to earth, which is why he is so widely admired," Raje commented.

Raje expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for appointing Mathur as governor. She stressed that despite opposition claims, a governor is not merely a rubber stamp but rather an influential figure. She likened Mathur to "an iron fist in a velvet glove."
