Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has family assets of over ₹51 crore and liabilities above ₹23 crore in the affidavit filed for the Varuna Assembly constituency in Mysuru district on April 19, 2023, ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections.

The affidavit, submitted with the nomination papers, shows Siddaramaiah and spouse Parvathi holding movable assets together worth about ₹20.84 crore. Movable properties listed under the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) category are valued at around ₹47.31 lakh, adding another layer to the family’s declared financial position.

On the immovable side, the estimated market value of Siddaramaiah’s properties stands at nearly ₹9.43 crore. Parvathi’s immovable assets are reported at around ₹19.56 crore as self-acquired property, with an additional ₹1.29 crore mentioned as inherited assets, reflecting a substantial expansion of family holdings since the previous election disclosure.

The affidavit specifies that Siddaramaiah’s personal liabilities come to about ₹6.84 crore. Parvathi’s liabilities are recorded at nearly ₹16.24 crore, while obligations under the HUF are shown as around ₹67.34 lakh. Before filing the nomination from Varuna, Siddaramaiah offered prayers at the Chamundeshwari temple, a regular practice by many candidates during election season.

During the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections, Siddaramaiah’s family assets had been declared at ₹20.36 crore, with total liabilities of ₹4.86 crore. The latest figures indicate a sharp rise in both assets and borrowings between 2018 and 2023, placing the Varuna candidate’s current financial status under close public and political scrutiny.
