Pahalgam Terror Attack Probe: Lashkar-e-Taiba Chief Hafiz Saeed Faces Fresh NIA Charges

Big development in the Pahalgam terror attack, as the NIA (National Investigation Agency) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against Pakistan based terrorist and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Hafiz Saeed in the connection with the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 lives last year.

NIA accused Hafiz Saeed of playing the key role in planning and directing the attack from Pakistan. It is known that the chargesheet was submitted before the NIA special court in Jammu And Kashmir on Monday. According to the agency, Saeed has been banned from both personal capacity and his terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its proxy organisation, the Resistance Front (TRF).

NIA Alleges Cross-Border Conspiracy

Hafiz Saeed has been charged under several provisions of Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967. The agency has also invoked charges related to waging war against India, alleging that it was planned and directed from across the border.

According to investigators, the supplementary chargesheet contains detailed evidence gathered through scientific investigation, technical analysis, and extensive field inquiries. It explains how the dreadful attack was planned and the involvement of Hafiz Saeed carrying out the operation.

The latest filing adds to the original 1,597-page chargesheet submitted by the NIA as part of its ongoing investigation into the terror attack.

Earlier Chargesheet Named Other Accused

One must know that this is not the first chargesheet, NIA had earlier filed its first chargesheet on December 15, 2025. In that, the agency named Pakistani terrorist Sajid Jatt as one of the key accused. It also added the names of the three terrorists who were killed in operation Mahadev in July 2025, along with two individuals who were detained.

Pahalgam Attack Shocked The Nation

This is one of the biggest and dreadful terror attacks that shook the entire nation as it was the first attack that aimed the killing of civilians. This tragic attack took place on April 22, 2025, in the popular tourist town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

It was later known that the terrorists carried out religion based attacks targeting Hindus. However, the government of India did not delay the revenge with - Operation Sindoor.
