Shivpal Yadav’s Son Seeks Action Against BJP MP for Badaun Incident Remarks
In a recent development from Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, political tensions have escalated following a complaint lodged by Aditya Yadav, son of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Yadav. The complaint was filed against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sanghamitra Maurya for her controversial remarks about Shivpal Yadav. This incident comes amid the heated atmosphere of the Lok Sabha elections, with Budaun being a significant battleground.

Aditya Yadav met with Budaun's district magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on Thursday to formally lodge his complaint. He accused Maurya of making "indecent, baseless, and misleading" statements against his father, Shivpal Yadav, who is the SP's candidate for the Budaun seat in the upcoming elections. Aditya Yadav has also expressed intentions to file a defamation case against Maurya, citing the maligning of Shivpal Yadav through unfounded allegations, particularly at a critical time during election season.
Furthermore, Aditya Yadav's actions were not limited to legal avenues; he also visited the family of two boys who were tragically murdered by their neighbour, showcasing his support and solidarity. This move comes in stark contrast to Maurya's allegations that Shivpal Yadav was involved in politics over the incident.
Maurya's accusations against Shivpal Yadav have been severe. She alleged that during the SP's tenure from 2012 to 2017, there was a record of 300 riots, insinuating a pattern of violence associated with the party. She also suggested that Shivpal Yadav could have been the mastermind behind recent incidents in Budaun, further questioning his integrity and leadership.
In response to these allegations, Aditya Yadav defended his father and the SP's reputation by highlighting the baseless nature of Maurya's claims. He emphasized that such accusations violate the model code of conduct and demanded strict action against her.
The political landscape in Budaun is witnessing a clash of narratives between the BJP and SP, with both parties vying for influence in the region. Aditya Yadav's readiness for elections and his proactive stance against defamation reflect the high stakes involved in this electoral contest. As this political drama unfolds, it underscores the intense rivalry and deep-seated issues that permeate Uttar Pradesh's political scene.
