Shivakumar Gets Emotional As Congress Races Ahead In Karnataka
D K Shivakumar who led the Congress to victory in Karnataka seemed to be visibly emotional.
At the time of writing this copy, the Congress was leading in 130 seats, which is way past the majority mark in the 224 member house.

On being asked about who would be the chief minister, he said that it was up to the leadership to decide. The Congress would be holding its legislature party meeting on Sunday and a decision on who the the next CM would be will be taken.
Currently there are four candidates in the race, although the clear favourites are Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar. The other two who said that they are also contenders are M B Patil and Dr. G Parameshwara.

Siddaramaiah has not yet spoken. He only flashed the victory symbol as the elections got declared. He had made it clear that this would be his last election and made an emotional pitch to the voters.
Congress sources say that the decision on who would be CM will be taken based on the feedback by the legislators. There is likely to be a vote before a final decision is taken, the source added.
