The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert indicating widespread heavy rainfall across South Peninsular and Central India from October 14 to October 18.

Interior Karnataka: Scattered rainfall is forecast for the next three days.
- Telangana: Isolated light to moderate rainfall is predicted throughout the week.
- Extremely heavy rainfall is anticipated in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on October 15-16, and in South Interior Karnataka on October 17.
- Very heavy rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, and Rayalaseema from October 14-17, and over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam between October 14-16.
- Coastal Karnataka is expected to experience heavy rainfall on October 17, while Lakshadweep is likely to see heavy rain on October 17-18.
- Konkan & Goa, Gujarat: Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over the next two days, with isolated rainfall continuing for five more days.
- Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh: Isolated light to moderate rainfall is forecasted throughout the week.
- Konkan & Goa: Heavy rain is anticipated on October 14-15.
- Gujarat State: Heavy rainfall is expected on October 14.
- Madhya Maharashtra: Heavy rain is forecast for October 15.
