Sambhal Man Takes His Life, Blames Wife and In-Laws for Harassment in Suicide Note

A 30-year-old man, Gaurav Kumar, allegedly ended his life in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district. His family claims he left a note blaming his wife and in-laws for harassment. Police are currently verifying if the note is in his handwriting. Gaurav, from Mausampur village, consumed poison on Sunday, leading to his death during hospital treatment on Tuesday.

Sambhal Mans Suicide Linked to Harassment Claims

According to Gaurav's father, Krishnapal Singh, an FIR has been filed against Gaurav's wife Priya, her mother, and brother. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Krishnapal stated that Gaurav married Priya a year ago, but disputes soon emerged between him and Priya's family. Priya eventually returned to her parents' home.

Allegations of Harassment

Krishnapal alleged that Priya demanded money from Gaurav and threatened to file a dowry harassment case if her demands were not met. Despite attempts to reconcile, Priya refused to return, causing Gaurav significant mental distress. On the day of the incident, Gaurav reportedly wrote a suicide note before consuming poison.

The note allegedly held Priya and her family accountable for his death, claiming he faced injustice and harassment from them. Gaurav was taken to a private hospital in Amroha but succumbed during treatment. The police cited this complaint while discussing the case.

Investigation Underway

Circle Officer Asmoli Kuldeep Kumar mentioned that initial findings suggest domestic discord as the cause of the suicide. An FIR has been lodged against Priya and two others under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for abetment of suicide. The police are verifying if the suicide note matches Gaurav's handwriting.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and testimonies related to the case. The police aim to determine the authenticity of the allegations made in the suicide note and ascertain the circumstances leading up to Gaurav's tragic decision.
