Sainik School Entrance Exam 2025: Key Dates, Eligibility, And Exam Pattern Inside
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2025, according to a Hindustan Times (HT) report. Interested candidates can apply online at exams.nta.ac.in/AISSEE.
The AISSEE 2025 will be conducted offline using OMR sheets to select students for admission to Class 6 and Class 9 at Sainik Schools across India for the 2025-26 academic year.
The online registration period opened on December 25 and will close at 5 pm on January 13. Candidates must also complete the fee payment by January 14. The application fee is Rs 800 for general, OBC-NCL, defence, and ex-servicemen category candidates, and Rs 650 for SC and ST candidates.
The exam will be conducted in 190 cities across India, as mentioned in the official information bulletin. The exam date and admit card release date will be announced later.
AISSEE 2025: Eligibility Criteria
For Class 6 admission, candidates should be aged between 10 and 12 years as of March 31, 2025. This means candidates should be born between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2015 (both dates included). Girl candidates are eligible to apply for Class 6 admission in all Sainik schools. The number of seats available for girls in each school is listed in the information bulletin.
For Class 9 admission, candidates should be aged between 13 and 15 years as of March 31, 2025 (born between April 1, 2010, and March 31, 2012). Female students may be admitted to Class 9, depending on seat availability. Candidates must have passed Class 8 from a recognised school to apply for Class 9.
AISSEE 2025: Exam Pattern
Class 6
Language: 25 questions, 2 marks each, total 50 marks
Mathematics: 50 questions, 3 marks each, total 150 marks
Intelligence: 25 questions, 2 marks each, total 50 marks
General Knowledge: 25 questions, 2 marks each, total 50 marks
Total: 125 questions, 300 marks
Class 9
Mathematics: 50 questions, 4 marks each, total 200 marks
Intelligence: 25 questions, 2 marks each, total 50 marks
English: 25 questions, 2 marks each, total 50 marks
General Science: 25 questions, 2 marks each, total 50 marks
Social Science: 25 questions, 2 marks each, total 50 marks
Total: 150 questions, 400 marks
The exam duration for Class 6 is 150 minutes (from 2 pm to 4:30 pm) and for Class 9, it is 180 minutes (from 2 pm to 5 pm).
