Rift In INDIA Alliance? Congress To Go Solo In Delhi

As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, Congress has declared its intention to contest all 70 seats without forming any alliances. Devender Yadav, the state Congress chief, confirmed this strategy after attending a Congress Working Committee meeting. He said that the party's leader would be chosen post-victory, following their usual procedure.

Yadav criticised the current administration, highlighting issues like unemployment and inflation affecting women. He also pointed out that senior citizens are not receiving pensions and that infrastructure is deteriorating. According to him, AAP's Mohalla Clinics are merely for show, reflecting what he termed as "misgovernance" by both AAP and BJP.

Congress Prepares for Upcoming Elections

The Congress party has appointed Priyavrat Singh as the "war room" chairman for the Delhi elections. This decision was sanctioned by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. Despite being in power in Delhi for 15 years previously, Congress has struggled in recent elections, failing to secure any seats in the last two assembly polls.

Meanwhile, BJP is also gearing up for the elections. The Delhi BJP Manifesto Committee convened on November 25 under Ramvir Singh Bidhuri's leadership to strategise for the upcoming polls. This meeting followed BJP's recent success in Maharashtra.

BJP's Confidence in Securing Victory

Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva expressed optimism about replicating their Maharashtra victory in Delhi. He stated that Prime Minister Modi's speeches inspire local BJP workers and predicted significant support from Delhi voters who desire a corruption-free government.

Sachdeva remarked, "PM Modi's address fills the BJP workers of Delhi with enthusiasm. Now the time has come for the people of Delhi to give a befitting reply to those who are ruining Delhi. The people want a clean, corruption-free Delhi. After Maharashtra and Haryana, the people will elect a BJP government in Delhi too... BJP will get huge support in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections..."

The political landscape in Delhi is heating up as both major parties prepare intensively for the forthcoming assembly elections. With Congress aiming to regain its former influence and BJP seeking to extend its recent successes, voters can expect a competitive electoral battle.
