Republic Day 2018 will mark another first for women. An all-woman bikers' contingent of Border Security Force (BSF) will make its debut on Rajpath. Women's Motor Cycle team 'Seema Bhawani' of BS F was raised at Central School of Motor Transport, BSF Academy in Tekanpur on 20th October, 2016.
The members of this special women bikers squad have been specially chosen by BSF trainers and are aged between 25-30 years. They are drawn from various combat ranks of the force, the official said. The 27-member BSF women daredevils are expected to draw cheers as they showcase their stunts and acrobatics on their 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles.
They performed 16 varieties of stunts, including bike stunts, at the parade. The team was led by sub-inspector Stanzin Noryang. The 28-year-old Armywoman hails from the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir.
